Catching butterflies Colour Challenge

Welcome to my blog, today I’m blog hopping with Crafty Collaborations and my project is called Catching Butterflies Colour Challenge.

We are using the colours, Highland Heather, Flirty Flaming and Coastal Cabana.

I decided to showcase a few Sale-a-Bration items in this challenge. The Stamp Set Im using is called Catching Butterflies. A cute set which is free with a Β£45 order.

I have also used these fabulous Designer Series Paper called Simply Marbleous, there are 48 sheets of double sided paper. This is also free with a qualifying order.

I have made 2 lovely fun cards and a gift tag for this project. I do hope you have a go at making them.

Materials Used

  • White cardstock 5 x 7″ and a 4 x 4″ Base Card
  • Highland Heather 4 x 5.75 x 2 pieces
  • Flirty Flamingo 3.75 x 3.75″
  • DSP 3.75 x 5.5″
  • Stitched Rectangle 2 x 3.25″ x 2 piecesΒ  1 x 2.5Β  1.75 x 3″
  • Simply Marbelous DSP Stitched Rectangle 1 x 2.5″
  • Blending Pens, Soft Seafoam, Crumbcake, Petal Pink, Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana.
  • Silver Simple Elegant Trim
  • Blending Brush

How To Create Card 1

  1. Adhere the dsp to the Highland Heather Cardstock then glue both to the card base.
  2. Using black ink stamp the image onto the largest of the Stitched rectangles and colour using the Blending Pens.
  3. Stamp the butterflies and the sentiment onto scrap cardstock with black ink and colour the butterflies with bending pens.
  4. Add the image and sentiment to the card front with Dimensionals, then arrange and glue the butterflies.
  5. Attatch the Stitched Rectangle to the Highland heather cardstockThen glue to the inside of the card.

How To Create Card 2

  1. Add dimensionals to the Flirty Flaming cardstock and attatch to the Base Card.
  2. Take a piece of masking tape and tear to create an uneven edge.
  3. Put the masking tape on the white cardstock leaving a gap in the middle.
  4. With a blending brush and Flirty Flamingo Ink gently blend the cardstock between the tape to the desired shade.
  5. Leaving the tape in place stamp the butterflies over the inked area.
  6. Remove the masking.
  7. Stamp the sentiment, then add dimensionals to the back and place on the card.
  8. Stamp more butterflies and colour with the pens and add to the card.

How To Create Tag

  1. Glue the 2 stitched Rectangles together.
  2. Stamp the butterflies and colour
  3. Using Black Ink stamp the sentiment and attach using dimensionals.
  4. Using the Triple Punch make a hole.
  5. Thread the silver trim through.
