A Touch Of Ink is a two step Stamp Set from the Sale a-bration catalogue. If your unsure what a two step stamp is…..some of the stamps are in pairs – you have an outline image and then a solid image to stamp on top – this creates a beautiful watercolour look without having to watercolour, or you can just colour/paint the images giving another look to this lovely stamp set. The cards below will show both types.
Card Base 12.5cm x 12.5cm Roccoco Rose.
1st Layer 12cm x 12cm Basic White
Centre Layer 5.5cm x 12cm Basic White.
Centre Layer 5cm x 11.5cm Basic White.
Using the single leaf stamp and Memento Black ink, stamp randomly on the 1st layer (Basic White)
Take the matching solid leaf shape and stamp over the stamped black leaf with Mossy Meadow. (This is two step stamping.)
Attach a piece of Metallic Blushing Bride ribbon to the bottom of the card using Stamp seal on the back of the card to secure.
Stamp a line of flowers down the smallest centre layer using memento black ink, then over stamp with the matching solid shape using Roccoco Rose ink.
colour the stamens on the flowers with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen.
To create a continuous length of flowers I used a piece of copier paper to mask the flower stem.
I coloured the edges of the white cardstock using the Dark Mossy Meadow Blends pen as I didn’t have any Mossy Meadow cardstock.
Stamp the bird onto a scrap of white cardstock using Memento Black Ink. then using the matching solid bird shape adding one colour at a time, over stamp the outline. Roccoco Rose and Bermuda Bay ink was used on the bird.
Fussy cut the bird and using dimensionals attach to the card.
Using a sponge dauber and the Magenta Madness ink pad stamp randomly on the 2nd Layer of Basic White.
Take as much ink off the sponge dauber and stipple lightly over the 3rd layer of Basic White, then stamp the butterfly using the Memento Black ink pad.
instead of using the solid butterfly to ink over the top I have used the Stampin Blends in Magenta Madness. I have coloured over a few parts with the Dark Highland Heather Blends pen. I have used dark Crumb Cake Blends Pen for the Butterfly body. Add ribbon of your choice and a sentiment to match the card you are making.
Stamp out 3 sets of leaves and 2 flowers using Memento Black Ink Pad.
Colour the leaves with Stampin Blends Pens Dark and Light Old Olive.
Colour the Flowers with Stampin Blends Pens Dark and Light Bermuda Bay.
Fussy cut the leaves and flowers out and I have snipped them into pieces to arrange on the tag. when you are happy with the look, attach the leaves with liquid glue. attach the flowers using dimensionals to pop them off the tag.
Cut a piece of Basic White at 9cm x 2cm and stamp the inscription in Bermuda Bay ink. colour 2 pearls with Dark Bermuda Bay Blends Pen.
The Best Wishes inscription was from the Stamp Set Pretty Perennials.
